- 1 & 1/2 lbs of minced beef
- 3/4 cup quick/old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
- 1/2 cup onion or green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup ketchup, tomato puree, beer, red wine or milk (combination if preferred)
- 1 egg
- Salt/pepper/seasoning of your choice
Using your hands mix all ingredients together in a bowl. season with salt and pepper to your taste . Shape to form 6 round burgers and chill in the fridge for at least an hour to firm. Cook about 5 inches from a medium heat, 5-6 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked.
